To facilitate the management and development of the Stapp Car Crash Association, the Stapp Advisory Committee is broken into four subcommittees, of which general Association Committee Members are invited to participate.
Stapp Conference Subcommittee
The Conference Subcommittee is ideally an comprised of the past host, current host, future host (or general chairs), Journal Editor-in-Chief, and a few ad hoc members. This group will ideally have at least some international members
- Select meeting sites and recruit a future general conference chair
- Recruit of conference sponsors and reception hosts
- Work with NHTSA on coordination of their Human Subjects Workshop meeting
- Prepare and host current meeting with program planning, session chairs, recruiting keynote speakers or panels
Stapp Membership Subcommittee
- Define Stapp Association membership in terms of qualifications and credentials, participation, and other responsibilities
- Define whether term limits are needed or define criteria to be an ongoing member
- Determine differences for North American vs. International memberships
- Recruit new members as needed
- Examine Association Bylaws and determine edits/changes
Stapp Education and Scholarship Subcommittee
- Maintain and expand student involvement in the Stapp Conference and the Stapp Journal submissions
- Coordinate recruitment of student submissions for the conference and award selection at the conference
- Develop and expand student participation with additional scholarships to perhaps include travel funding and additional types of awards; seek sponsors for such expansion
- Develop educational programs such as pre- or post-conference training sessions, webinars, written material
- Work with web master to expand Stapp history and presentation on the website; potentially create a social media presence
Stapp Finance Subcommittee
- Maintain the financial health of the Stapp Association by creating yearly budgets and investments
- Work with conference committee on conference budgets, registrations, attendance costs
- Work with financial auditing consultant on organization non-profit status
- Develop reporting to Stapp Association members annually and as needed
