The Stapp Car Crash Conference is the premier forum for presentation of research and developments in impact biomechanics, human injury tolerance, and related fields that advance the knowledge of land-vehicle crash injury protection. The Conference provides an opportunity to participate in free discussion regarding the causes and mechanisms of injury, experimental methods and tools for use in impact biomechanics research, and the development of new concepts for reducing injuries and fatalities in automobile crashes.
Current Conference
The 69th Stapp Car Crash Conference will be held November 4–6, 2025, at Emory University’s Atlanta campus.
Call for Papers
The Stapp Car Crash Conference is now accepting manuscripts on a rolling basis. Papers accepted for publication will be eligible for immediate publication via SAE’s eFirst digital platform and invited for presentation at that year’s Stapp Car Crash Conference.
Call for Short Communications
The Stapp Car Crash Conference will soon begin accepting short communications for the upcoming 69th Stapp Car Crash Conference. Find submission requirements on the Short Communications page.
NHTSA Workshop
Every year, the Stapp Car Crash Conference coordinates its conference with the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration Biomechanics Research Division annual workshop on Injury Biomechanics to allow conference attendees convenient, single location accomodations when looking to get up to date with the latest advancements in automotive human injury research.
Access Short Communications
In line with its mission of fostering the share of knowledge in the field of impact biomechanics and human injury tolerance, the Stapp Car Crash Conference is working to publish all short communications presented at the Stapp Car Crash Conferences.
