Preparations are underway for the 70th Stapp Car Crash Conference, which will be held November 10–12, 2026, at the Morgan Center for Research & Innovation at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Call for Papers 2026

The Stapp Advisory Committee invites submission of full-length manuscripts that advance the science of injury biomechanics and transportation safety to the Stapp Journal.  Manuscripts accepted for publication prior to the 70th Stapp Car Crash Conference will be offered a podium presentation slot at the conference.  Accepted manuscripts will be made available through SAE as eFirst Articles ahead of publication in the Stapp Car Crash Journal.

Call for Short Communications 2026

The deadline for submissions of Short Communications has passed for presentation at this year’s conference. Note that Research Article and Technical Article submissions are accepted throughout the year and, after peer-review, will be published in the Stapp Car Crash Journal independent of the conference.

NHTSA Biomechanics Workshop

The NHTSA Workshop on Human Subjects for Biomechanical Research seeks to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and the presentation of ongoing research investigations using human volunteers or surrogates. This year’s workshop, co-chaired by Drs. Elizabeth McNeil and Rodney Rudd, will take place virtually from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm (EDT, UTC-4) on Tuesday, October 27 and Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
